Along the Appalachian trail, half way between Cheorokee, NC and Gatlinburg, TN, there is a familiar trail leading into the heart of the Smoky Mountain National Park. The bright orange and red Fall colors, and the complimentary blue sky made for a wonderful landscape. The rustic fence is the last you will see of civilization for 30 or more miles. The white blaze on the tree is there to guide you on your journey. —Larry Smith
