“Standing on the Appalachian Trail looking south toward Spence Field in the distance is a well-worn memory. The view means I only have two more miles to the Spence Field shelter, and I have just finished climbing a very challenging mountain called Thunderhead.
I did this painting using a palette knife with just a few strategic brush strokes. It turned out absolutely beautiful.” — Larry Smith
